By creating an account or using the DBaaS.dev API, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the service.
DBaaS.dev provides managed PostgreSQL database instances accessible over the internet. We currently offer:
We reserve the right to add, modify, or discontinue service tiers at any time with reasonable prior notice.
Access to the main service requires sign-in via a Google account. You are responsible for:
You must be at least 18 years old to use DBaaS.dev.
Use of DBaaS.dev is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP"), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the service you agree to comply with the AUP in full. The following is a non-exhaustive summary of prohibited conduct; the AUP contains the complete and binding list of restrictions.
You agree not to use DBaaS.dev to:
No backups are guaranteed on the Free plan. Databases may be lost without prior notice due to hardware failure, cluster maintenance, or resource constraints. You are solely responsible for exporting any data you wish to retain. We strongly advise against storing data that cannot be recovered from another source.
Ephemeral databases are by design temporary. They are automatically and permanently deleted upon TTL expiry. No backups or recovery mechanisms exist, and the TTL cannot be extended after creation. Ephemeral databases must not be used to store any data intended to persist.
You are the data controller for all data stored in your databases. Please refer to our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement for details of how DBaaS.dev handles data as data processor.
No Service Level Agreement (SLA) is offered on the Free or Ephemeral plans. The service is provided on a best-effort basis. Databases may be unavailable due to:
We will endeavour to communicate planned downtime in advance where practicable, but make no guarantees of advance notice. Applications requiring high availability must not rely on Free tier infrastructure.
Free tier databases are subject to resource limits (CPU, memory, storage, and connections). We may throttle, suspend, or delete databases that consistently exceed reasonable usage thresholds or that negatively impact other users. Where practicable, we will notify you prior to taking action; however, we reserve the right to act immediately in cases of severe or ongoing abuse.
We may impose limits on the number of databases per account, connection counts, and query rates at our reasonable discretion.
DBaaS.dev and all associated software, branding, and documentation are the exclusive property of the service operator. Use of the service confers no ownership rights over any part of the platform or its underlying technology.
Your databases and the data stored within them remain your property. We assert no ownership over your application data.
By you: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your databases and associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice and an opportunity to export your data prior to termination. In cases of serious violations — including illegal activity or active abuse — we reserve the right to terminate immediately and without notice.
DBaaS.dev is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from data loss. You are solely responsible for maintaining independent backups of any data you cannot afford to lose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DBaaS.dev and its operators expressly exclude all liability for the following categories of loss, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, and whether or not such loss was foreseeable or DBaaS.dev had been advised of the possibility of such loss:
These exclusions apply regardless of the form of action and even if DBaaS.dev has been informed of the possibility of such damages. They constitute an essential basis of the bargain between the parties.
Aggregate liability cap: To the extent any liability of DBaaS.dev is not fully excluded by the above, our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or in connection with the service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount paid by you to DBaaS.dev in the three calendar months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) INR 500. As the service is currently provided at no charge, this cap is effectively nil.
Certain jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential, incidental, or punitive damages. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions and limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and our liability is otherwise limited to the minimum amount permitted.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service following the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of DBaaS.dev shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
